Archives visited was a very interesting visit because it introduced us to know about whats the word” archives” meant. First able, when i thought about archives, it came to my mind things about document and important paper resources. The word archive means to maintain and collect primary resources about a special theme. Also it consists of permanent records or long-term preservation documents. Priminary sources are the first source of information, from which you can gather basic facts that will lead you to investigate further, such as; encyclopedia, letters, advertiment, photos, speeches and autobiography among others. By visiting the Lagaurdia Wagner archives I learned about mayor f. Wagner, he was an American senate politician who created the history of the organized labor in the United States. Moreover, we were discussing Mr. Wagner speeches; his mains claimed on the speech were more concerned about the Harlem riots, stating that the obligation of police are under legal obligation to protect to themselves. He also said that the absolute choice for the local government was to maintain law and order. by “law and order” he meant outlawing discrimination in housing. Wagner claimed that law and order was the Negro’s best friend.

In this blog I will discuss Walter Mosley’s Working On the Chain Gang thoughts about the dawn of the new millennium, segregation, right for voting, prejudice, and racism, among others.

On his introduction of the book, his mainly pointing out how slavery has been outlawed many years ago, and now we are still slave. We are part of the chain, where anyone slavering for others are portion of a new kind of chain. By “chain” mosley said that in today’s days we are still striving to survive in terms of government decisions and money manners. He also said that all the decision are made by the government that ruled us, in other words we are just objects or materials that can be defined “ to increase profit and corporation(Mosley 3).it’s basically saying today’s powers and potency are not equaled by our morality, ethics and accomplishment, instead its valued as “units or expanse”(Mosley 6). Those sentences basically means that we have to work more than what really we deserve, paying us by hourly but not by the value we create .He also discussed that African-Americans were fighting for the ballot while “whites” were enjoying technology advanced.. one of the most alarming points Mosley pointed was on how TELEVISION (media) has been our most useful drug, it’s just a game where in some points we are losers that can be presented as worthless, inferior, invaluable and mindless just because they are trying to sell us “fake products” as “celebrity” defined as “COMERCIAL VIRTUES”. Finally Mosley thought by using violence, force or a rebellion, it was the best way to understand; “without understanding, there can be no growth, no recognition of truth and no tomorrow” (Mosley 16).
